Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is the most effective antioxidant polyphenol in green tea, with antioxidant, anti-cancer, anti-mutation and other activities. Antioxidants are at least 100 times as many times as vitamin C and 25 times vitamin E to protect cells and DNA, which are believed to be associated with cancer, heart disease and other major diseases.
